They Said... Poem by brian naugher

They said the pain is so unbearable when loved ones pass away,
the sorrow never leaves you, it's with you every day.
They said you try to show brave face, to try and hide your fears,
but it's hard to fool yourself with eyes full of tears.
They said your friends will comfort you to try and ease the pain,
yet despite their words of kindness, the heartache still remains.
They said you'll feel an emptiness a void space that's hard to fill

.........They were right.
