They Came All Masked Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

They Came All Masked

They came all masked
I saw them on the bridge
the old and
creaking bridge
over the untidy street
in the old town
I heard one whispering
slowly
undertone:
they came all masked
Dawn was far away
Night was sovereign
and they
came all masked
