These Last Days Poem by Jessica Thomas

These Last Days

These last days with some of you
These last days are so few
Things we wanted to change
Life was always so strange
I have an idea about my friends
The ones who follow the trends
A new trend may be a drug
For money, an old lady they'll mug
It's an artificial high
But they feel it's no lie
These last days will change us forever
Let's make the most of them together
You could be the one in rehab
Or the heart that took a stab
To save you the dealer
You can be the cop in the squealer
Coming to save a life, make an arrest
Or you in jail you could be depressed
These last days are your choice
Remember the tone in this voice
Don't mess with drugs
Don't fight with thugs
Make your life the best
Everyone will lay to rest
Always remember these last few days
They may be the few left before you fade away.
