There's This Guy That I Love... Poem by Elizabeth U. Adams

There's This Guy That I Love...

There’s this guy that I love
And I don’t know if he knows
But my heart yearns for him
In the long winter cold

Okay, so let’s be real
Step back and take a look
I know it ain’t cold
And we don’t have winters in our book

But there is this guy that I know I love
Don’t ask me why cause all you’ll get is a shrug
He’s just everything I never knew I wanted
Not a nerd, not a dweeb, not a thug
He’s just really nice,
Sweet, and attentive
The kind of guy every girl wants
Not the ones who are disincentive
You know, the kine that makes you laugh
And even mad at one point or time
But yet you know he’s very rare
And they don’t come a dozen a dime
He always seems to say just what he means
Even if it ain’t what you need to hear
But you know that there’s a friend
Who will listen without a bias ear
They say a girl wants a guy
Who is will always stand behind her
Yet my man stands beside me
And it’s what he would prefer
I don’t need no diamonds
Nor silver in my ears
All I need is my love
To be here through the years
He is the one I’ve always wanted
The one I’ve always yearned for
He’s so much more then I expected
How could I ask for more?
So, if you have a man that’s there
Thank your lucky stars above
Because it’s very rare to find that one
That one you truly love
