There Is This One Lass Poem by James Harris

There Is This One Lass

There is this one lass I can't seem to shake
She is in my thoughts when I sleep or wake
This girl has occupied a corner of my mind
For not so long ago for her I had pined

It just seemed we were not meant to be
Though I think some things were left muddy
She was like none I had sought before
her dark mind and smile made my heart soar

Her I cannot seem to get out of my head
Thoughts of her even when I go to bed
This lass and I are not quite through
Of this I can say I already knew

These thoughts of her I cannot let go
But for now my love must not flow
It is painful at times to just be a friend
For now that is all this one can extend
