There Is No Substitute Poem by Gary James Smith

There Is No Substitute

Rating: 4.5

There Is No Substitute

There is no substitute for prayer
I know it changes things
I've seen some very sorrowful folk
Begin to praise and sing
Forgiveness is pure dynamite
And sin is blown away
There is no substitute for prayer
Won't you try some today

When my wife became a Christian
That was way back then
There was given a plaque to her
By some saved loved friend
And on that plaque these words were written
Which in my heart still
rings
We're these words so clearly read
"Prayer changes things! "

Yes "prayer changes things! "
I've seen its evidence
And even though to others
It doesn't make much sense
But I believe in miracles
And my God still exists
So I will keep on faithfully praying
For such a time as this!
