There Is No Sadness Like The Sadness Of Death In Memoriam Professor Lawrence (Larry) Besserman

Rating: 4.0

There is no sadness like the sadness of death
Another old friend younger than me is gone
What is there to say?

I am at a loss
To pray for his soul?
For him?

Time is killing everyone I know
My good friend Larry Besserman
Who I davvaned in the same minyan with for so many years
Whose knowledge and love of English literature
Exceeded mine
Who was so kind and helpful to so many people
And who in my most lonely years
Walked with me on Shabbat
I miss you and regret
I can never speak with you hear your most intelligent voice
again
