There Is No One Else I'D Rather Be

Rating: 5.0

The minute you decide that you would not want to be anyone rather than yourself, you will be happy.
Every time you try to act how you think you should, you are loosing pieces of yourself,
Ones that do not deserve to be forever broken off and thrown away.
Jealousy is suicide as a great man once said.
And I'll be damned if he's wrong.
I long to be something, someone else, a better version of myself, if you will.
But there are times, when I would not want to look out a car window as someone other than myself.
And there are times when the world is too bittersweet, too tragically, horribly, beautiful for me to want to see things any other way.
I will not lie, sometimes I pray so hard that I will wake up and be a brand new, improved, ' cooler ' me
But today, I have had my say,
And I am here to stay.

A blazingly frank manifesto, Rita, reminiscent of Whitman in its directness, insight and strength. Very well done!
