There Are Days When I Do Not Have To Wait For The Silence Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Are Days When I Do Not Have To Wait For The Silence

There are days when I do not have to wait for the silence
All the sounds around are a silence of their own
I hear myself clearly easily
I do not have to wait
It rolls through me
Words easy as light.

In these extra long days of summertime
There is no reason to hurry
The words come and flow easily
I hear them and write them now-

Though the world is clanking banging jabbering all around
Silence flows through me like a poem.
