Them Poem by James Pritchard

Them

They just went to their Land,
based on an assumption,
with their guns in one hand,
only with one function.

Their tanks and their planes,
they even brought dogs,
not even held back by chains,
the land is covered in fog.

They ravished their homes,
and burned them straight down,
the poured on them foam
and made all the people frown.

They bombed their towns,
and destroyed their morale,
always on them pound,
i wonder if the country ever outgrow it shall.

Sure it wasn't the best of places,
not really free,
and it was like the peopel were in cages,
but at least they had some glee.

Now they are just wounded and dead,
mothers cry over children long put to the eternal bed,
families torn apart,
thsi really hurts my heart.

No shelter.
no food.
no family.
no friends.

We have all of that,
where ever we are.
sure some people think that they're cool with a gat,
some people all they do is just go to the bar.

Then we send Aid,
to look all sweet and nice,
even though we're jsut afraid.
We send them free rice.

We say we're gonna build them back up,
we give each baby a cup,
each child a book,
each mother is tought how to cook.

Why couldn't we jsut leave them alone,
instead of making all of these new gravestones?

OMG that's amazing, I feel the same way...why can't we just leave them be? ....putting terribly sad events into beautiful words.... good work James! 10+++++....20
