The Writ Of The Gun Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

The Writ Of The Gun

He was haunted by hunger
But bread was given with a gun
The hunger faded
But the gun asked him
To hunt the men and women

The sleepless days at nights
The snowfall and roaring jungles
Invoked lamentations for peace,
The love and love for all.

Roaming at the cliff mouth
He banished the gun to the depth
He expelled the gun and death
And joined the caravan
And reached the land of love and peace
where he met his lady
Created in the heavens to join him!

His life filled with the fragrance
And nectar of love
Started to sprout and breed
With a son and a daughter
And he toiled to live and love
With his lady and his off springs!

In a cursed moment
He brood over the old past
And longed to go to his abode
With his band of loved ones
To see his papa and mama
His siblings and friends
But none look at him
With any mercy or welcome
But gave a bullet bite
At the hands of the soldiers
As he was a wanted terror!

The guns barked with
Incessant bullet rain
That pierced the hearts
Of a poor women and children
Destined to the destiny of death
Being the scions of a terror!
