The Worst Expectation Poem by Nnaji Hyacinth sopuluchukwu

The Worst Expectation

Rating: 5.0

In the day she saw an added year, came the craziest thought,
She often held my hand and i often refuse her a hand.
she often showed she loves me and I could only but profess mine.
I've never thought her hand so soft to be held,
But she knew my hand though rough needs caressing.
She never saw me so loved to be proclaimed,
Still my love though spoken, but not high to be shown.
Like I never knew her delight when our body rubs,
The least of a hug i denied, when then shall a kiss?
She may fear I despise her breath and scent,
But I wish she only but thought; did she disgust,
Was I to profess my love so undying for so long?
Like she never knew cost to say 'I love you',
She only but speaks her undying need of my company
But when apart she jollies my absence.
This I know because she only but seek my fare
Not for fare but to allow my light through her darkness.
I regret, but my best wish turned worst expectation,
On that day, she chose another a mate in dance
And I, she placed a server in the merry.
I thought her hips on my laps, to mention,
Also her fondling of my under grown hair
Would make her choose me a mate, not just for dance.
I knew if only she chose me a mate, I may then show my love.
But could she have wished my love shown first.
