The World Keeps Going Round Poem by McKenzie Mickey

The World Keeps Going Round

It turns around and around,
barely making a sound,
people invisible in the background.

Some people never stop moving,
they keep on running,
never slowing down.

Have we ever stopped to think,
Of those other than us?
The less fortunate?

Do we ever stop to look at the scenery?
Think about those who have barely enough to eat?
The underpaid and over looked?

Lacking the necessities to live,
kids begging in the streets,
stealing to live another day.

The earth spins on an axis,
but the mind functions on another level,
corrupting or helping.

Those who slow down,
Impact others greatly,
Helping those in need.

Have you ever slowed down,
Looked outside of your comfort zone,
Seen how lucky you are?

No matter what happens though,
The world keeps spinning.

It turns around and around,
barely making a sound.
people invisible in the background.

It just keeps going around and around.
