The Words You Didn'T Hear Me Say Poem by Marissa McFay

The Words You Didn'T Hear Me Say

Rating: 5.0

Do you remember the night we stared at the stars?
My head laying on your chest, listening to every heartbeat
You said we would be together forever
You said any storm we went through,
we would make it out alive.
Nothing could take us apart,
our love was something the gods were jealous of.

Do you remember that drive we took in the night?
You stared at me as you drove through the open highway.
You said we had nothing to be afraid of,
we were meant to live and love.
Our love was everything people longed for
it was pure, rare, and selfless.

Do you remember that morning we had to say goodbye?
You said the distance didn't matter,
that everything would be just fine.
You said we'd go through problems,
but that we would pull through because we were stronger.

Do you remember that last kiss you gave me before I left?
It was so soft, so gentle, so innocent.
Our eyes didn't just meet in that one moment,
our souls did.
You said you'd see me tonight in my dreams,
you'd pick me up at 11.

I remember all of that.
I'll never forget it
You thought I didn't believe it, but I really did.
I value your words more than mine.
I'll never leave you.
I promise.

This is a very well written poem; it makes me emotional more and more every time I read it. You seem too express something real, not imaginary. I almost feel like you are speaking directly to me. Well writen. Sincerely ~Marshall Peter Cline II
