Youth skips about giving no thought
As to where it places its feet,
Arrogently, it assums the world
Awaits its instruction.
Mddle age with surer steps, placed
Just so, walks a more
direct path; tho less arrogant.
It assums it is the foundation
Upon which the world rests
Old age, head bowed, shuffles along,
Halting steps carefully placed, contemplating
Life's lessions learned at so high
A price.It reaches out, humbled,
Knowing that no voice calls,
'You are needed, come take you place by the fire;
A seat awaits you in the
Great hall of wisdom.'
