Under a heatwave in a month of March
Sitting under the trees in a courtyard filled with people
We were all there, surrounding each other
And yet so alone in our hearts, heads between our hands most of the time
Despite our number, it was indeed the voice of silence that dominated
It made the atmosphere heavier than the scorching sun did
This silence was occasionally interrupted by the arrival of new people, the time of a greeting
But short-lived were these interruptions
For very soon, the silence took over again
The shadow became scarce, as the sun rose higher
On the contrary, sadness was 'abundant'
It invaded the atmosphere and settled upon our faces
So we waited for this moment, all of us equally
Patiently, impatiently, but above all, powerless
In the face of its majesty, the inevitable, what can man do?
It was evident: the D-day was here
As for the hour, it kept us waiting
We all anticipated it
But no one was eager to welcome it
As if to spare us another burden besides the oppressive sun
Our host chose to knock on the door just after nightfall...
Its arrival proved us right: it was indeed the D-day!
And it was March 30,2019...
