The Vibrant Vermilion Poem by Saima Sharif

The Vibrant Vermilion

The Vibrant Vermillion

The serpentine roads up and down the hills
With a flamboyant beauty,
Are carpeted with a lovely red blanket
Softer than velvet.

The Queenslander houses along the roads
Are shadowed by a scarlet umbrella,
That luminous radiance embraces the city
More royal than a parasol.

The river Brisbane shimmering with the sunset
Smiles broadly with the glitter of the season
And dances with the fiery splashing tides
Redder than flames.

The cars parked under the trees,
Slumbering peacefully away from heat and dust,
Are wrapped up with a silky coverlet
Smoother than silk.

I sit on the swing hanging from the tree,
That clusters an exuberant glee
That showers a serene beauty on me
As if I were arrayed in jewel
More crimson than ruby.

Beautiful Brisbane is now glowing like hundreds of ruby like poincianas.
