Unimaginative and Greedy Writers

Dr. Varanasi Ramabrahmam

Writing books on famous Hindu Gods and epic characters completely distorting the original spirit has been prevalent in Indian book publishing for the last 50 years.

It is quite obvious that these writers can't create such magnificent characters; do what maximum they can do is distort and make money and get name cashing in on the popularity of the Deities and characters..

There is no copyright for Indian Hindu Divinities, Deities and epic characters and the writers can change mood of the character as they like and destroy it too according to their whims and fancies.

Even though the epic characters are Deities and Divinities, worshipped with devotion and fervour by millions, the writers have scanty regard for the seers who created the so much appealing characters and to the readers whose sensitivities and sensibilities towards the characters and Deities are entwined, are not at all cared for.

This is called the freedom of expression, speech etc.,

But the faithful and readers are much pained for the senseless and at times completely transformed spirit of the characters.

None can do anything to these neo-writers. But why their imagination to characterise has vanished and prodded themselves for this distortion of famous characters and Deities using their intelligence, is a thing to grieve.

The problem, difficulty, and danger of such doings is the original spirit of the seers with which theycreated the magnum Opus - es are disrespected and completely undoneand the readers are taken for a ride.

The original spirit of the texts which are responsible for such a beautiful culture and aesthetics is destroyed for some money and fame.

Indian Hindu texts are original and were composed with human welfare and wellbeing as aims. Such a grand idea is just being killed by these unimaginative and greedy writers.
