The Unforeseen Path Poem by Ros Venn

The Unforeseen Path

Here I am again, I walk a path which only allows me to go forward,
Yet here I am again, I can look back but forward still I must go,
But occasionally I get stuck looking back, whether I move my feet are not I still travel forward,
I look back and even though I see the parts of the path that are rough,
I still see the parts that are perfect, how I long to be there again,
I look forward and it is scary, it is dark and cloudy,
The path is not clear, I do not see where it goes but I know what my final destination will be,
I don't know how long it will take to arrive but I know whether I want to are not,
Some day I will be there and there will be no path ahead,
I look back again now and I try to run, no matter how hard I try I cannot go backwards,
The path behind me is lost and only lives on as electric impulses in my brain,
I walk this path alone and though others may pass by me, and we share some time,
I shall travel on alone.
