The Time Love Failed Poem by Luke Elliot

The Time Love Failed

I hear the whispers of the past,
She never thought it'd last,
I made 3 or more months my task,
We stood and jumped too fast,
Hearts fell,
Love rose,
Emotions swell,
Time froze,
Problems trail,

Heaven descending into hell,
The story of how love failed,
Love dead with nails in it's coffin,
Or maybe with nails to the head,

Holding her close,
But I lost her long ago,
Still not wanting the book to fold close,

Trying to pump a dead love alive,
For her I strive,
Get on my knees and give up my pride,
Put my doubts to the side,
Let our lips collide,

To her I could confide,
Trying just to get a beat,
Just a beat and I'll run like a stride,
Too stuck to admit defeat,
My heart I abide,

But at the end my head will be left in the street,
The problems I don't wanna repeat,
My heart and body not able to accept defeat,
Dragging her heart down a road it doesn't wanna go,

Looking left, right, up, and down,
Searching for a heart that used to pound,
Searching but never found.
