The Surprise Poem by NITHEESH ANNADANAM

The Surprise

It was my Birthday, and I was in my room
Suddenly there came a sound 'BOOM'
The lights went off and the flower of fear in my heart bloomed
'You are afraid of the dark'I heard my mind bark
I heard the door creak, I heard a pot break
I heard someone's footsteps
My Parents weren't home
This would be my doom
My heart beat fast
I closed my eyes and started to pray
To save me from the ghosts, from becoming their prey
Then suddenly, I heard a blood curdling laugh
In horror, I gave an inhuman shriek
The lights were switched on
And my friends pounced on me and cried
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

A good surprise on your birthday! But they shouldn't have scared you so much! A good rendition of the incident in the form of poetry.Keep writing but not at the cost of your studies.
