The Sun Went Out Poem by The Dreamers Movement

The Sun Went Out

My sun went out today
And never came back to me
Left me for a prettier place to shine
A better place to be

The light has disappeared
And now I will disappear
Into the darkness of my mind

Here I go
Into the recesses of my mind
Where no one can hurt me
Where no one can break my heart
The sun can’t reach me here
It can’t touch my face and make me warm
In this place I can be cold

Maybe if I am cold I can’t feel

But who am I kidding
Eventually there will be another sun
A sun that will warm me
And make me feel prettier
Prettier than any other person or place

But until then I will live in the dark
With a flickering candle at my back
The only light to guide me
The only constant thing
The only thing to keep me company

Maybe just maybe this is the light
The light that will forever keep me warm

Very emotional and descriptive, it's always better to feel than not to feel at all, very lovely
