The Storm Poem by John McClay

The Storm

We are in the middle of a storm
A storm that threatens to overcome us
A storm with no end in sight

But I shall not let this storm rip us a part
I will stand strong against the winds, the rain, and the hurt
My extended hand will not waver, nor falter

For you can grab this hand and clench it tight to your heart
without worry or doubt that I may let you go
because I shall never let you be consumed by this raging storm

We will stand, hand-in-hand, facing what comes our way
Ready to overcome any obstacle
Ready for the world

This storm we are in will pass soon
and we will emerge stronger than ever
Hand-in-hand we will turn to the sunshine that warms the path ahead
