The Statue Poem by jonah gustafson

The Statue

Look at the statue
So proud and brave
The city’s tattoo
He’s all the rave

Is he solid or hollow?
It’s all the same
But why would we follow
Just for his fame?

Does he even have actions?
Does he even have thoughts?
Like, what are his passions?
And what line did I cross?

To question his might
We dare not try
But is he really the light
We want in our eyes?
