The Song In The Rain Poem by Drew Fisher

The Song In The Rain

I sit at the six side table
looking out to see
Why life is so beautiful
to the animals and bees

The song they sang revealed it
The birds were grateful there
and as their music rose
it lifted up my fears

The humidity kept building
soon my nose did say
It was time to move
I’d be wet if I stayed

I wondered why they sang
their sweet song in the rain
Then I heard the little ones
Sing back the refrain

And then I knew the singing
Was to keep them all happy
As the waters droned on
and world became unhappy
