The Snap.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Snap....

she knows her limits and she knows how to escape from despair and boredom and this meaningless existence of a housewife whose husband had taken a bland landscape for her, like a desert and an island of nothing but hardened lava and rocks.

today she is again escaping from boredom having slept till eleven o clock in the morning as she was drunk last night with her lady friends in the garden under the starlit sky.

she got her i-phone called some friends and engaged in an oral intercourse, a conversation without any direction, like a spontaneous encounter in a mall or at the supermarket where a wide selection of advertised products which she does not actually need is being displayed. she buys a lot by simply swiping her credit card.

here she is giggling and laughing and so engaged in uncontrollable brouhaha, as i lay myself in the hammock, rocking myself to a stupor between sleep and waking up.

i want to read a book on how to ignore boring people and how to sleep well without being disturbed by restless wives and desperate ones, defying rules, denying realities, dillydallying on age and overstretching freedom and then the ultimate

snap. Period.
