The Smiling Death (Being Inspired By A Post Of Ziauddin Bulbul)

Rating: 5.0

The smile of dying and fading leaves,
is giving a message to the humans,
facing the hardships in the sun,
I felt hunger of others,
your excreted breaths and your wasted water,
I utilized within me,
cooked food that fed the whole of the tree,
I performed my duty,
and I bloomed as beauty,
I lost my green color,
but fed multicolored flowers,
for those who are are blind
I managed an aroma
that touched their senses,
and the obliged beauty kissed me.
See me just before my death,
I am turned in smiling lips,
what a pleasant death is it,
can't you make your death smiling like me?

Even a dry leaf can teach us a few things about life (or death) . The poem conveys a complete philosophy for a man to emulate. Thanks for sharing a great poem, Akhtar Jawad Sahab.

A very inspiring poem. The imagery of a fading leaf for a life well lived in tending and caring for others and dying with satisfaction is really marvelous.
