The Sleep Walker Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

The Sleep Walker

Rating: 4.3

'Tis a sleep walker
Who unknowingly
Turns the dark knobs
Of the secret chambers
Of the heart of thee
At most un-welcomed hours
Fear Not, 'tis not a day dream
May be the sweetest in a
Lonely night,

It may sigh, pray, cry
And open thy virgin heart
Shedding the blood purest
'Cos unattended love
Shall die in a wink of time
Like a dew drop in a summer day,

It wakes up and goes
Becoming most unfamiliar
Hence be wise and be haste
Embracing the falling stars
At the far cloud's end
In the sweetest but shortest
Dreams of thee.
