The Souvenirs Of Love Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

The Souvenirs Of Love

Rating: 4.7

Dear friend! today I call you,
Yesterday I called you, my love!
While you away beyond the seas
Our past is a tombstone at the
Grave yard yonder; inviting me to
Re-read the days gone by,

My suspicions at your soft touches
For I was not touched in my heart,
An ache deep in my soul still moans
Counting the silent but flying seconds
For my sacrifices of life expecting
A re-incarnated love beyond the seas,

The flowers you brought into my chamber
Have been beautiful and radiant
If instead you had brought the natural,
Would have been perished a long time back
Artificial are beautiful passing many a summer
In spite of missing an ambrosial scent.

Romantic and beautiful love poem elegantly brought forth from the heart. Thanks for sharing Palitha.

You have quite exceptionally expressed you views, and you have written this taking 'love' as the topic. Short, but great indeed!

My suspicions at your soft touches For I was not touched in my heart, An ache deep in my soul still moans Counting the silent but flying seconds For my sacrifices of life expecting A re-incarnated love beyond the seas, liked thís stanza very much in this poem. wounds, thoughts, lack of readiness to accept a love because of past experience. thank you very much for this poem tony
