The Sky Said Poem by Grant House

The Sky Said

Tonight's sky
The one that you and I
Fell from as stardust
That sky
Told me to reflect on this:

When we see others as in a mirror
We begin to see who we really are
Neither more than them nor less.

That colorful abundant sky
Reflected down here below
Said,

The character of our nation is determined
Not by how well off the well off are
But by how we treat others
In their time of distress.

Might we begin to heal the world
By seeing us in them?
Swirling colors
Every hue
One earth, one sky
Amen.
