The Signs Of The Time Poem by Rex-mayor Ubini

The Signs Of The Time

Here comes he
One of the conquerors of space.
Adorn with preened lips of the world
Wherefore he comes.
But from aloof; woe! woe!
Voices erupted from the throats of ritual blood,
And him the maw of ill deeds swallowed.
And one spoke with deafening tongue:
'Go wake the sleeping dawn!
Feed her ears with the news of another fallen god.'

The wind warily began to soar,
Around the face of our planet
With an elegy etched on her wings.
She soars from West to East,
She soars from North to South.
Echoes of silence swept the earth.
Mournful virus gripped her health.
As the wild blue yonder
Downpour in turn another star.

'O eyes, think not deep these hap'
A soft voice crouching inside you speaks
Lest you tell the face of the things you could see.
For each and every one of us,
Now wore the spirit of pens
That carved on tablets of stones the fate of men.
Things revealed to us our tongues fear to herald,
Lest they say, he's one with a fake god.

But you see as day goes and night falls
The milky way is getting stranded
Stars are falling down,
No one ever wears the crown.
The world had had it all,
Eyes had seen it all,
Like an aged woman,
Her future stands by the grave.
Believe you me when I say:
The world has grown wings,
Like a bird she set to wings away,
Far away across the stars,
Across the moon and the suns,
Across the planets and across the horizon;
To a destination where her very being,
Would be startled by the echoes of the truth,
She dumped from her youth.
