The Shore Of Youth Poem by Jacob McCurdy

The Shore Of Youth

I once tasted the sweetness
Of truth
That left me at the dusk of
My youth.
This heart once had love from it
Dripping
To form a lake, on its shore
which we were sitting
Until the bitter truth slaughtered
The dripping heart of my youth.
Awoken in a new day where Death
Has His grip, and Love His crippling sting
Which makes all of me sit
All of me dream
All of me wish
To live once more by the
Lake of Sweet Truth
That defined me so in my youth
