The Sheepdog Trialer Poem by Francis Duggan

The Sheepdog Trialer

The old sheepdog trialer he has passed away
The champion border collies he trained at rest also lay
As a dog trialer many say he was the best
Since he proved himself in many a dog trialing test
The old sheepdog trialer he had a long life
In his mid eighties survived by his wife
Many times a grandfather some of his direct descendants dog trialers today
For to trial and train sheepdogs is in their d n a
One who could laugh at life and tell a good joke
The old sheepdog trialer was a likeable bloke
Last year in September he breathed his last
His dad before him a champion sheepdog trialer in the long gone past
His exit from life was a painless release
The old sheepdog trialer he now is at peace.
