The Second Anniversary Poem by Randy Johnson

The Second Anniversary

When I advertised for a Chihuahua on Craigslist, I had good luck.
I was able to buy another dog and she cost two hundred bucks.
But about four weeks later, she got sick and nearly died.
I was very scared, that's something that can't be denied.
I lost a dog just two months earlier and I almost lost my new dog as well.
I took her to a vet but I thought that I would end up having to say farewell.
But she got better and she and I are celebrating our second anniversary together today.
Her name is Hazel and I'm extremely grateful that she didn't pass away.
