The 'sane' One Poem by Maddie 'Rae' Berry

The 'sane' One

Can't stop myself can I?
Can't play this naive alibi
When you walk by, you say hi
The frostiness melts away and I’m no longer in control…
Of my mortal soul
Because you’ve left a hole, mauled who I used to be
Changed my identity, I’m not the girl I used to be
It’s because of you that I’ve become a shell of what
I used to be…Oh why can’t you see
Your denial is criminal
To what has become of me
The game has just begun; I’m no longer the ‘sane’ one
