The Renegade Poem by Timothy Long

The Renegade

It's okay, it's alright, I'll be gone by tonight, I need the razor but where's the pen, I've been craving or maybe its suppose to be like this, I can't sleep, I'm going away, some will say is it worth it? no I don't believe so, this is no way to live, the life and I, are fighting a battle to the death, one or the other of us have to go, this is it, I've hated every minute got it, goodnight my sweetness, don't go too far, they don't care, they won't recognize what they did wrong, it hurts a lot, you will cry, you will rage, but you will also calm before the storm, in time it will go, how it ends is up to you, the melodies of sleepless pass me by, like realizing I'm growing too old, the tumble on before me, like winning only to fall.
