The Quest Of A Pot Bellied Pig Poem by Stephen Katona

The Quest Of A Pot Bellied Pig

Rating: 3.3

A pig called Lulu appeared on the telly,
She was rather large with a pot belly.
When her owner Jo Ann had an attack of the heart,
She proved to be incredibly smart.

1998,
Decided Jo's fate,
On holiday,
Her husband far away.

Thanks to an amazing rapport,
When Jo fell on the floor,
With a pain in her chest,
Lulu set off on a quest.

Eyes flowing with tears,
She acted without fear,
Pushing open a gate,
With all of her weight.

Their dog Bear barked,
While Lulu embarked,
On a rescue both daring,
And wonderfully caring.

She lay on the road,
So the traffic slowed,
To see a pig lying down,
Like a lazy clown.

Her cunning plan,
Found a nice man,
Who dialled 111,
And was second to none.

This glorious pantomime,
Appeared on the New York Times.
On the Oprah Winfrey Show,
George Clooney said, "You should know"

"This amazing swine,
Is a friend of mine.
We should all bow,
To this extraordinary sow."

"She really deserves to devour,
This jelly doughnut tower.
Remember her endeavour,
And that pigs are so clever."
