The Prayer Poem by Steve Woodward

The Prayer

I asked the skies for rain,
She gave me her tears.

I asked the sands for a lifetime,
And was given these years.

I asked the rocks for stability,
I was given the ground.

I asked then for senses,
And received sight and sound.

I asked then to be cleansed,
And was given the sea.

So I asked for an Angel,
And you came to me.
