The Power Of A Writer's Pen Poem by Maria Justa Polotan

Those who write put more than words on paper,
They create a new time with quill and pen,
They recall memories near forgotten,
Lost thoughts and ideals are captured again.

Emotions too heavy for just one heart,
And dreams that soar beyond heaven's promise,
Pain that is borne beyond explanation
All these they write of and render ageless.

They see the wounds and sufferings of souls,
They speak for them whose voices have been stilled,
They dare the anger of those in power,
They will not allow for truth to be killed.

Perhaps tomorrow, a new time we'll see,
And these musings will soon be forgotten,
But they who write will always remember:
The sword will bow to the might of the pen.
