The Poet's Apology Poem by Rachel Flint

The Poet's Apology

Forgive me I am a poet
It is my compulsion
To be sentimental
To dream of a better world
To answer questions nobody asked

It may seem to you pointless
To worry about a fullstop
The placing of a single word
Or think of a rhyme scheme that fits

Ignore me
If I seem to rant on
About injustices
The pomposity of politicians
And the foibles of modern life

And if I speak of love
Life and death
And boring subjects like that
Indulge me
I'm a poet I can't help it

again flint, your voice is found, and you make it almost effortless when you let your voice out, i do not appreciate many, you are some of that few, you are watchwoman on the tower of feelings

Very well said young lady, you have expressed your feelings well. May you always have peace and joy in your heart each and everyday. Scott
