A flash in the pan
That's what I am
A rhyme or two
And then I'm through

A moment of inspiration
A feeling of short duration
To express my point of view
Of a conclusion that I drew

No matter, it wrong or right
I stay up all the night
Till pen and paper capture
The words that I was after

Then when at last my work is complete
And now my soul is now replete
Of that unquenchable fire yearning
To express what I was discerning

I return back to my earthly ways
Turn away from my Heavenly gaze
Until return that spark of light
That keeps me up all through the night
