The Physical World And The Metaphysical World Are No Longer On Speaking Terms Poem by Patrick Fleskes

The Physical World And The Metaphysical World Are No Longer On Speaking Terms

Tell Elvis I’ll be right back,

From that mountain,

Eclipsin’, riding on top of everythin’,

Sheer beauty, shinin’ outa Buddha’s

Eyes, that desolation, brown as dirt,

Oh lord, I cannot find the hatred in my heart,

For all those whom exist, the grand illusion,

Reality.

Set aflame my soul,

Incarnate, to bloom,

Like lotus flower,

Be now man, infinite,

I am both no one and everything,

The universe, summarized.

Create, live, destroy, rebirth,

‘verything caught between is jazz,

Sly pianist workin’ them notes,

Behind wall of smoke, project, by cigarette

A comedic tragedy, suspending suspense,

Holdin’ absolute beauty,

Just to crush it the next second,

“I had to” he’d answer,

Cause nothin’ is worth worship,

If you’re not willin’ destroy it as you are to praise.
