The Perfect Moment Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

The Perfect Moment

Under a star lit sky
The moon hangs high
The shadow coil beneath the trees
Creating images that are unseen
The mood is set and the waves crash down
With the sounds of the water hitting the sand
My heart flitters as I hold on to your hand
Side by side we walk along the braking point
The water moves by our feet and you pick me up
Swing me around and pull me close
Our eyes meet and our lips become one
Butterflies held high with in my chest
And the moment is just perfect, could we please stop time
Stay locked in this moment when were so involved
Close off the world and embrace one another
A single bird brings hope in the sky
A symbol that love can fly even with simple flaws
So we sit together and wait for the sun to kiss the water
Enjoy the warmth of the night together
The stars fade out, one by one
And the moon takes its leave in the mountains
So with no light burning with in the sky
The darkness may feel alluring for once
Like its touch couldn’t taint a thing
So the light flames with in the sky
And the colors create a living painting
The sun wakes the morning and pulls it self high
It stretches its rays and shows the world is still alive
Life is brought forth, from the slumber night brought
So the moment is perfect, a sunrise never forgettable
And we take our leave, to let nature grow
Bringing with us this precious memory
So with hands locked tight and hearts filled high
We’ll say farewell to the spring painted sky
