The Perfect Kiss Poem by Jessica Beal

The Perfect Kiss

Pressing your
lips next to mine,
I feel like water
in your hands.

My heart melts
to nothing,
My breath
completely gone.
Pleading in
my head,
For you to keep
holding on.

Your lips part,
your grip tightens,
you pull me closer,
and my mind
erases away.

With your
hands lightly
touching my cheeck,
I feel a chill
go through my
entire body.

Your lips
suddenly press
against my neck.
A silent sigh
passes by.

While my lips
are finding yours,
my fingers are
running through
your perfect
blonde hair,
and my body's
falling into yours.

Within a second,
your lips are
no longer near me,
your breath
has backed away,
your hold on me
has left
even when I
prayed that it
would stay.
