The Peaceful Hour Poem by Joyce Hemsley

The Peaceful Hour

The peaceful hour has come at last
when heavenly quietude calms the heart
and gentle music in classical mood
is my interlude to solitude.

'Solitaire' for just one night
as a dream of you takes my soul aflight;
time goes by so slowly dear
unless I imagine you are near.

As the echo of music dies away,
it's time to survive the mountain-way,
to toil once more in sunshine or rain
until the peaceful hour is mine again.
