The Pain Within Poem by Dori Spooner

The Pain Within

Rating: 4.5

When I Awake
There Is A Pain Within
Deep Within My Heart
That Travels Through My Soul
Sometimes It Burns
Sometimes It Stabs
But Mostly It Aches
But Never Subsides
For Just One Day
I Wish That This Pain
Would Find Somewhere Else To Rest
To Allow Me The Freedom To Breathe
Without Catching Me Half Way
Allow Me To Walk Comfortably
Without The Fear Of Falling
To Allow My Child To See Me Smile Again
Without This Pain Within

An insightful depiction of depression - a deplorable condition of the mind as it loses its sunshine, sinking into lowest ebb of life, is nicely portrayed in the poem. Thanks for sharing Dori. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
