The Pain We Bear Poem by Maureen Alikor

The Pain We Bear

If all we say
Can be heard
If all we hear can be true
Can we not move ahead?

If all the lies were not
Can there be any hope
For those unplugged
Can we not at least try?

If all the love you preached
Was crystal clear and true
Can we not at least talk
And our marriage rebuild?

If all we shared
Was indeed cherished
Can we not this fight stop?
