The Only True Religion Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Only True Religion

Rating: 5.0

By the grace
of your kiss

I enter the door
of this bliss

finding myself

newly created
by you

in the image of
your love

the kindness of your hands
offering me

the gift of this

your smile

the only true
religion

I can believe in

your eyes
the only prayer

that I know

your laughter
the only heaven

known to me

your lips
the forever where

my soul
enters

to kneel
before your heart.

What a truly beautiful love poem...this is just gogeous. You are always quoting the Dali Lama with ' the only true religion is kindnees' and I thoroughly agree with that and with this...one of the most lovely lovel poems I know. All that wonderful journey through the sense to experience the loved one and to arrive at the last line like a knight finding the Holy Grail. A thing of beauty and a joy for ever as John put it! love Gina XXX
