The Only Poem by The Understander

The Only

Rating: 5.0

I stand. Just me. The only
I stand here alone in this desolate space
No expression on my face because,
I...am The Only.

No one knows what it means to be The Only
'Cuz its only me. Misunderstood.
Or maybe, its not a misunderstanding, but more of a lack.
A lack of time and effort to find what it is I carry on my back.

So I'll tell you.
I carry forgotten dreams and lost hopes
I carry the chains and the ropes
The shackles and cuffs that binds one from expression
The same chains and ropes that holds one in depression.

So I sit, to tired to stand anymore.
Writing down words that only scratch the surface of true emotion
As my hand graces the paper, my pen bleeds with the same pain I feel.

I lay. Just me. The only
I stand here alone in this desolate space
No expression on my face because,
I am The Only.
So Lonely
