The Onion Man

Rating: 3.8

The deceits of Musharraf’s politics are like the layers of an onion,
For every layer that you peel away reveals another deception
Then, when you finally reach the core,
You discover that there’s nothing more-
What’s hidden behind the Holy Hyperbole’s only for his protection.

The Truth is that he can kill or silence every person who knows better
Than to trust any slippery lies slyly spoken with conscience unfettered
Against a perverted religion
Whose dishonorable intention’s
To take advantage of the faithful who follow his orders to the letter

Thank you, gentlemen! This has also been well received by some of the natives of Pakistan, where it appears that he is facing the possibility of impeachment - well deserved by all accounts that I've heard!

As a writer of rhythm and rhyme, I found this poem quite interesting. There are really two ways for nme to grade it, so I decided to do neither. There is a very strict grade I could put on this, but I don't think it would reflect the worth of the writing. GW62
